ABOUT
Norwegian designer Tarinii Martinsen´s eponymous label Tarinii was established with the desire to play with the way that men dress and to explore the use of clothes to widen social stereotypes.
Central to her work is the devotion and respect for the craft. She has been quietly honing her skills as a pattern maker and as a designer with an intriguing aesthetic. Every piece is produced in her studio-factory in Oslo using organic and natural materials, as well as deadstock and recycled fabrics.
The fabrics used, are never limited to one collection, and are used until there is no more left.
An ongoing initiative is to eliminate sample making and production waste by using the cut offs to create garments, accessories and as components of garments.
The absolute core of the sustainability efforts are the made to order and local production practices. Those seek to avoid over-production, nourish handcraft and hopefully help to close the gap between maker and consumer.
